Proper Units

"The lithium-ion battery pack can generate four-kilowatts of power, the equivalent of 31 horsepower"

Um, no. 4 kilowatts is about 5 horsepower. The battery has a capacity of 4 kilowatt hours, but that's not the same as its maximum discharge rate. This was a near-quote from the Toronto Star article, which is also wrong:

"A four-kilowatt, 31-horsepower lithium-ion battery pack allows it to go from zero to 100 km/h in less than four seconds."

The specifications say the motor is rated at 22,000 watts and 31 horsepower, but it doesn't say if the battery is capable of producing the full 22,000 watts.

The article was used primarily using the Toronto Star article as a source; the information I added later (to the infobox) was correct though. Thanks for fixing it. However, shouldn't we retain mention that the motor is driven by the lithium-ion battery pack? Mindmatrix 13:07, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
