Remove sentence from intro section

Remove this sentence from intro section: "VirtualPBX also provides a service called PBX Parachute, which gives companies that own an on-site PBX a disaster recovery backup capability to keep their phone service running in case a power failure disrupts local service."

  • Edits to Offerings section

The Offerings page is written like an ad. To fix that, the section's text can be replaced with the following:

VirtualPBX offers a number of business phone plans with small business and enterprise features. Its Dash platform includes automatic call distribution queues for call traffic management, audio conferencing, call recording, follow-me calling for directing inbound calls to a user's multiple devices, and voicemail boxes with team notifications.

The recent introduction of webhooks allows clients to send web requests to the Zapier web service, which routes requests to other applications.[1] Applications that support Zapier can use webhooks to integrate with one another.

Outside its primary offering of business phone plans, VirtualPBX sells an SIP Trunking service that connects businesses' on-site PBX's to the internet.[2]

VirtualPBX also sells networking hardware from various vendors on its website. Listed IP phones and routers are pre-programmed to work with the Dash phone service.

The company's offering of iOS and Android apps has been called "forward-thinking" for its integration of phone numbers across the entire calling platform.[3][4] An individual's phone number in the PBX will work the same in the mobile app, web phone, and desk phones listed on an account. The mobile applications use data connections, including Wi-Fi and 4G, to handle inbound and outbound calls.

Update product plans for accuracy

The "Office and Anywhere" plans mentioned in the Products section are outdated. Dash Basic, Pro, and Unlimited have replaced them.

Suggest removing the first and second paragraphs of that section:

VirtualPBX Office and Anywhere plans are the company’s end-to-end hosted phone products for small and midsize companies.[7][8] The services works as either an inbound call router to existing phones (mobile) or they can set up a VoIP service with lines and phones.[9]

VirtualPBX includes dial-tone service, optional VoIP phones, conferencing, machine-less faxing, voicemail with phone, online, and email retrieval, call recording, and an auto-receptionist function with customizable greetings.[8]

The accompanying citations are also outdated. I've added new citations in the following paragraphs (the date for the PCMag citation is found in the article's metadata.)

Suggest replacing the deletion with:

VirtualPBX offers its Dash Basic, Pro, and Unlimited hosted phone plans for small to enterprise business customers.[1][2]

VirtualPBX offers several features in its phone plans, including: Auto-attendant with customizable greetings, audio conferencing, call routing, call recording, email-to-fax, follow-me calling, and voicemail.[3]

  Edit request partially implemented

  • The requested changes have been partially implemented. The changing of specific phone plans and offerings by the company can be expected to change often over the course of a company's lifetime. These changes have the effect of rendering text in the article obsolete. As one of the goals of the project is to post enduring, encyclopedic information as much as possible (but without losing sight of the fact that Wikipedia is, and continues to be, a WP:WORKINPROGRESS) I have summarized the proposed text according to Wikipedia's summary style and implemented it within the Products section.  Spintendo  17:26, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
