We shouldn't just list a random selection of links to external companies. (See WP:EL).
If people want to enumerate the wide variety of logging systems available, we could start a category of for logging systems, and add this to the articles about those systems.Stephen B Streater (talk) 17:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- There are a few logging systems now, including my own company's (FORscene). Standard WP policy is that if a system is notable enough to be mentioned, it should have its own article. Red links encourage people to write these articles. More fundamentally, articles written in WP are free to use by anyone, whereas external links are generally not editable and more importantly they are copyright and not usable "for any purpose" - so not meeting the main goal of WP of becoming a repository of free (as in speech) knowledge.
