This page currently redirects to the Adobe Flash page for no good reason, as there is no mention of UIRA on that page. I'm going to instead take a summary of this page http://www.liquisearch.com/flash_for_linux/uira and link to the discontinued sourceforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/uira/ for the purposes of accurate software history.
http://uira.org is now being forwarded to http://www.unfreeze.net/ and http://sourceforge.net/projects/uira/ says that the project has been shutdown. (This comment was added by a user from IP 88.146.55.121)
Citing the article... "The remaining desktop based open source swf generating gui software appear to be Salasaga, Synfig Animation Studio and OpenOffice.org." I haven't looked into this, but some people say that a package called "Ktoon" can also be used. (Blender may also be usable, but currently not with the default import/export tools.) --82.171.70.54 (talk) 06:12, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
When looking at the Recursive acronym page I clicked the link for UIRA which redirected to flash third party tools. While the bottom of that section does eventually mention UIRA (now), it's not mentioned in the list format and seems to be a rather bad redirect from my perspective as a user. I'm also not really entirely sure WHY that list eventually ends with a paragraph discussing UIRA, but I admit I know nothing about it.
Given previous talk here and the change in format, however, it really seems like UIRA was perhaps JUST added there to justify this redirect, which seems unwise to me. As a user, I'd prefer a red link that correctly tells me that wikipedia won't be a good source for the info I'd want here rather than a very unhelpful page redirect which first seems entirely unrelated and then seems like it was forced to become related to justify the redirect.
