Will Riker also a clone?

William Thomas Riker, like the popularly-known William Riker, is a transporter-generated clone of the original William Riker.(emphasis added)

This opening sentence seems to be saying that both Will and Thomas are clones of an original Will Riker. If this is correct, an explanation of what happened to the original is in order, and this fact should be reflected in the William Riker page. However, I suspect this is not correct.

Thomas Riker really isn't a clone... he's a transporter duplicate. Those are two different things.

Take a gander at the actual article -- I fixed it a while ago. Also, it helps to sign/date your comments by typing ---- at the end. --EEMeltonIV 18:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Name

Should it be noted that the name "Thomas" is Aramaic for "Twin", given the nature of the second Riker's existence? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.117.107.182 (talk) 05:12, 23 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Redirect

This character pretty firmly falls short of clearing WP:GNG; I've redirected to the franchise's character list entry. --EEMIV (talk) 19:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
