It would be nice to have at least one illustration. AnonMoos (talk) 19:20, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
I'm wondering why this shape is restricted to a square. For the periodic form, could it be generalized to some other period to make, say, a triangle (triancle?). I'm playing with it in Desmos and haven't been successful. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:49, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

The text claims that apple icons are quintic superellipses and cites [12] which states actually that apple icons are NOT quintic superellipses...with an overlay showing how they disagree! 192.80.55.86 (talk) 14:46, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
The formula to change s_L to s with s in [O,1] is wrong. I tested it. In order not to get a negative radicand, you must choose an s >= 3.414, obviously not in the range. I fixed it and an arrogant quack changed it back. If you want to put BS up here for everyone to see, be my guest. For those truly interested, look at the source and do the math yourself. I’m a mathematician by trade, so what do I know, right? ~2026-55254-6 (talk) 01:44, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
