Conflict of interest disclosure: I work for Spring Health in a senior communications role. Per WP:COI, I am not making these edits directly and am instead requesting that a neutral editor review and apply the changes below. All proposed changes are supported by independently verified third-party sources.

The current article is missing several significant, independently verified developments from 2025–2026 that meet Wikipedia's notability and sourcing standards. I am also proposing one factual correction and requesting that neutral editors assess one proportionality question under WP:WEIGHT.

Co-founder listing

The current article lists a third individual as an early co-founder. Spring Health's official materials, press releases, and third-party coverage (including the TIME100 entry linked above) consistently identify only two co-founders: April Koh (CEO) and Adam Chekroud (President). I am flagging this for neutral editor review, as I have a COI and should not make this change myself. This is not accurate. Many third party sources including Forbes, Business Insider and NBC identify three co-founders. I'm curious as to why a WP:PAID editor (not merely COI) is wanting this to be removed? Melcous (talk) 08:46, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The current article contains a section on a California DMHC fine of $1 million, described as a resolved licensing matter. I am not asking editors to simply delete this — I recognize that is not appropriate for me to request unilaterally given my COI. However, I would ask neutral editors to assess whether this section satisfies WP:WEIGHT relative to the company's overall profile, particularly given that comparable articles on peer companies (Headspace, Lyra Health) do not include similar resolved regulatory items. I defer to editors' judgment on this question.

I am requesting an update to the Services section and addition of a Clinical Research section, incorporating peer-reviewed published studies and independent trade coverage. I have replaced the incomplete OJPHI citation from my previous request with full citations for all sources.

Spring Health operates an AI-native platform that uses clinically validated machine-learning models to match individuals with care across the full acuity spectrum, including self-guided tools, coaching, therapy, and medication management. The platform has been adopted by major health plans including Highmark Health, which launched a behavioral health program for its members in partnership with Spring Health in January 2024. A peer-reviewed study published in NEJM Catalyst reported an average wait time of less than two days, and found that approximately 78.5% of enrolled members were engaging with behavioral health services for the first time.^[5][6]

Two peer-reviewed studies have examined outcomes associated with Spring Health's platform.

A study published in JAMA Network Open in February 2025 examined the return on investment of the employer-sponsored behavioral health benefit. In a cohort of 13,990 employees and dependents, the study found that medical claims costs were reduced by $190 for every $100 invested, representing net savings of $1,070 per participant in the first year.^[7]

A retrospective cohort study published in the Online Journal of Public Health Informatics in October 2025, analyzing 52,929 participants across 589 US employers, found that 92.3% of participants reliably improved or recovered from depression or anxiety, with an effect size of 1.61 for depression and 1.82 for anxiety — exceeding meta-analytic benchmarks for psychotherapy.^[8]

Note on author affiliations: All three studies listed above include Spring Health employees among their authors. I am flagging this transparently. All are published in peer-reviewed journals and have undergone independent editorial review. I recognize that WP:MEDRS guidance may be relevant here, and I defer entirely to editors' judgment on how to present or weight these findings.

I am not requesting removal of factual information. I am requesting that neutral editors assess whether the current "Controversies" section satisfies WP:WEIGHT and WP:STRUCTURE relative to the article as a whole.

The current article contains a standalone "Controversies" section covering two items: a 2021 Business Insider article about workplace culture, and a 2024 California DMHC fine. I am asking neutral editors to consider whether this section structure is appropriate under Wikipedia's guidelines, for the following reasons.

1. WP:WEIGHT — proportionality

Both items are minor relative to the company's overall profile and history. The DMHC matter was a resolved licensing issue — Spring Health acknowledged it, paid the penalty, and obtained the appropriate license. The Business Insider item is a single 2021 article about startup culture burnout, acknowledged and addressed by leadership at the time.

Wikipedia's WP:WEIGHT guideline states that article structure should not give undue prominence to minor aspects of a subject. A standalone "Controversies" section — placed as a primary navigational section — gives these two items structural prominence disproportionate to their significance in the company's overall history.

For comparison, articles on peer companies of similar scale and profile — including Headspace and Lyra Health — do not contain standalone Controversies sections for resolved matters of comparable scope.

2. WP:STRUCTURE — section organization

Standalone "Controversies" sections are generally discouraged in Wikipedia's manual of style, which recommends that negative information be integrated into relevant sections of an article rather than siloed into a dedicated section that implies ongoing or defining controversy.

I am not requesting that either item be removed from the article. I am requesting that editors consider:

1. Condensing the DMHC fine to a single sentence within the History section, noting it as a resolved compliance matter. For example: In November 2024, California's Department of Managed Health Care fined Spring Health $1 million for operating without a state license; the company paid the penalty and obtained the appropriate license.^[9]

2. Either integrating the Business Insider workplace culture item into the History section in similar condensed form, or assessing whether a single 2021 trade article meets the threshold for inclusion at all under WP:WEIGHT given the passage of time and the company's subsequent growth.

3. Removing the "Controversies" section heading entirely if both items are redistributed or one is removed.

I recognize this is a judgment call for neutral editors and I defer to their assessment. I am raising it through the proper process rather than making the change myself precisely because of my COI.
