Origins of Speed Metal

The article is wrong. The musical origins of speed metal go back way before the NWOBHM. In the early 1970's Deep Purple was often cited as writing some of the first speed metal songs, such as "Speed King", and "Hard Lovin' Man". Ask anyone who knows about the topic and they'll you the same thing. So I suggest we change the "cultural" origins to simply say "1970s". — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinGrem (talkcontribs) 23:49, 11 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
