I think there is a case for disambiguation here, between 'Software Distribution' as a noun such as the examples given in the article, and as a verb meaning the process of distributing software, which has many aspects. I've never done a disambiguation split before, I'll go off and ask the CS project maintainers how/if to proceed. 11 years later and this page is still a mess. I propose that this page be split into 2 articles, 1 about the process of distributing software and the other about software distros. The page Distro points to this article, but the article, in first paragraph, claims "This is not to be confused with a distribution, or distro, which is ...". This is contradictory and needs to be resolved. Blue down quark (talk)

Oppose - The issue with different uses of the term "software distribution" has been resolved with a split. The article is currently a little short, however I believe the best solution to that is expansion, and I think the concept of distributing software is big enough to warrant a Wikipedia article.
