Software Construction → Software construction –
It's a discipline. Per WP:CAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. Lowercase will match the formatting of related article titles. Tony (talk) 07:28, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

- Since you wrote the article, you also need to know about our WP:MOS and esp. our style for headings WP:HEADINGS): sentence case, not title case. Please go through and fix the headings, and the moved article title will look more right; also no need to capitalize software engineering, software design, etc. Dicklyon (talk) 06:47, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

Scope of software construction
In the box on the right, Construction is shown as distinct from Testing and Debugging. But in the lead section, debugging and some testing activities are described as part of the construction activity. Can we untangle this? Faught (talk) 16:58, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Faught Construction is a «phase» that involves these activities. But testing is a «phase» that is dedicated only to test. For testing and debugging, please read the article Software release life cycle. Hooman Mallahzadeh (talk) 09:26, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
- Not sure whether what you describe as "box on the right" is the same today as it was in 2017. Today, the box lists many links including: construction, software testing and debugging. That these concepts have separate articles does not mean that they are not overlapping conceptually. IMO, debugging is a component (an activity) of construction (a phase). I'd say that unit and integration testing are activities of construction as well. Some forms of testing such as acceptance testing are probably/arguably not. Better name
This article would be better titled Construction (software). Folks generally don't use 'software construction'. They use the word 'construction' in the context of software. Construction is a phase of software development. Stevebroshar (talk) 09:19, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
