The term snaps was borrowed from Swedish. "Schnapps" refers generally to various kinds of strong liquor and does not refer to a shot of liquor, whether small or large. In English and German, "schnapps" is not used in the context of drinking songs or drinking rituals. Wahrmund (talk) 02:31, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Fredmans epistlar etc. are not snapsvisor. Some of the songs are drinking songs but those exist throughout Europe and don't follow the pattern of snapsvisor. Bellman's drinking songs follow a general European Bacchanal pattern - mixed with lots of other things, since he is Bellman.
This article has lots of external links, that unless they are dead perhaps can be used as sources for the article. The article at svwp aren't sourced either, but I find the definition of snapsvisa there, as opposed to general drinking song, useful. --Stighammar (talk) 11:23, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
I removed the claim that universities sometimes provide detailed instructions to foreign students. The claim is sourced, but the link is dead and waybackmachine won't let me see any older version. But based on the domain name, it seems the source is actually the student union, rather than the university. I don't really think this detail adds very much to the article, but please feel free to find an alive/archived source and reintroduce it if you disagree. 83.251.137.128 (talk) 18:47, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
For reference: The source url was http://www.uppsalastudentkar.se/international-students/life-uppsala/useful-links/going-gasque with ref title just "Uppsala studentkår". 83.251.137.128 (talk) 18:49, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
