Hi @Encoded Please can you change 'biometric fingerprint technology' to Biometric identification technology' in the following paragraphs:
Paragraph 1
Overview box > Products
---------------------------
Also, I wanted to ask for some advice please...
I would like to update the Article for the company I work for - Simprints - as it is very out of date and there have been many developments that readers would find interesting and beneficial that are currently not included on the page.
I tried to make all the changes under the Username Simprints, which I didn't realise wasn't allowed and I also didn't know that I needed to declare COI and that I was updating the pages as part of my job (therefore paid to do so). This was my mistake and I appreciate the chance to learn how to use Wikipedia correctly. Thanks for your patience and help!
I'm now submitting each edit needed as an Edit request, but this could take some time. Is there any way that someone could revert back to the changes I made a few weeks ago, once anything that is not inappropriate is removed? I'm happy to consult with you on each section of updates needed.
I would be so grateful for your steer on this. Once the page is up to date, it will be a valuable resource to people who are interested in the topic of Biometrics and impactful not for profit organisations.
Hi @Sima Bodalikar, I've updated the sections of the article for you. I've just had a look at the page history and it looks like the edits have already been reverted by Sadads (see where it says "Tags: Reverted"). If there's any I've missed please let me know.
Thank you so much! I'll have a look now. There were quite a few updates needed as the page was so outdated. If you could help revert back to the changes I made in March, that would be great. 86.16.225.91 (talk) 08:39, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Can you add the below heading and paragraph to appear after Paragraph 2:
Published literature
In May 2023, Simprints launched the ‘Responsible Biometric Deployment Handbook’, funded by IBM. The project was supported with a grant from the Notre Dame-IBM Technology Ethics Lab, the applied arm of the Notre Dame Technology Ethics Center. The guide provides tools to explore the ethical and secure adoption of biometric technology in frontline humanitarian and development settings.
Please add the below paragraph to appear after the Harvard Business School paragraph:
Simprints Open Source
At the end of 2023, Simprints made its Android application available on GitHhub, making it one of the world’s first fully open-source biometric ID solutions for last-mile delivery with advanced privacy engineering.
Round 7 Saving Lives at Birth Transition to Scale grant for $2 million to scale up Simprints’ partnership with BRAC’s maternal health program to reach 2 million expectant mothers and children in Bangladesh.
Thank you so much, Encoded! Please let me know if you have any queries on any of the updates. I also appreciate that these may take some time to get through. Any help you can give is very much appreciate.
Hi, I'm just working on some uni coursework atm and am unable to review right now so I've tagged this section as an edit request, if nobody else is able to help before I'm back I'm happy to review. Thanks, EncodedTalk 💬17:07, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Encoded, thank you for tagging as an Edit Request. I appreciate there is a lot to get through! Atb with your studies.
Simprints Open Source - Done, but added in history section instead, I don't think adding it after Harvard business school paragraph in published literature is the right place.
Remote sentence - Done as requested
"reached 2 million people" - Not done for now, I feel like more context is needed for this, what exactly is meant by "reached", is it 2 million users or 2 million biometric scans, etc?
Awards - Done as requested.
Affiliations - Not done for now, are there any references you could provide for this list?
Thank you so much we are almost there! I think these updates got missed along the way, unless you need more information to make them... Please let me know.
In the Awards section:
2018
- Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance INFUSE ‘Pacesetter’ WON
Hi Sima, no need to apologise! Could you confirm what still needs doing as the thread is quite long and I’m not sure what’s still outstanding, is it the message from 8th July? Happy to take a look tonight or tomorrow :) EncodedTalk 💬17:19, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @EncodedSorry I missed this! It's the message from 6 July that remains.
We've actually also won a few more awards since then:
2024
Top Most Loved Workplaces® for Young Professionals
Hi, @Sima Bodalikar, unfortunately I appear to be having some issues with my cite tool on my laptop at the moment, I've set a reminder on my phone to check back tomorrow when I'm back at my desktop and hopefully it'll be working then. Sorry for the delay, I've been off Wikipedia for a bit recently. EncodedTalk 💬21:50, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
No worries, @Encoded. Thank you for checking in on the page and sorry to hear of the technical issues. Hopefully, we can update the page soon, and then we should be good for a little while.
Hi @Sima Bodalikar, I've implemented the request from July and the request from August that I was previously unable to yesterday. That should be all up to date now, if there's anything else let me know. If you have any further requests please open them under a new heading as this one is getting quite large, just to help myself and others keep track - thanks! Request to update Simprints page by a Paid Editor
Latest comment: 2 years ago2 comments2 people in discussion
Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented.
What I think should be changed (include citations):
In the Intro section, change:
technology for use by governments, NGOs, and nonprofits for people in the developing world to:
and contactless face scanning solutions to be used by governments, NGOs, and nonprofit organisations serving people in low- and middle-income countries
What I think should be changed (include citations):
Add a section after the Introduction section as follows:
Published Literature
In May 2023, Simprints launched ‘A Responsible Biometric Deployment Handbook’[1], funded by IBM. The project was supported with a grant from the Notre Dame-IBM Technology Ethics Lab, the applied arm of the Notre Dame Technology Ethics Center. The guide provides tools to explore the ethical and secure adoption of biometric technology in frontline humanitarian and development settings.
In October 2023, Simprints was featured in a Harvard Business School Case Study entitled ‘Toby Norman: Is passion enough for Simprints to thrive?[2]’. The case, written by Professor Jon Jachimowicz, is an in-depth look at the Simprints story and has become part of the core curriculum for all first-year Business students in the LEAD programme at Harvard.
Why it should be changed: To update the profile
References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

Hi @Sadads, you kindly dealt with my Username block a few days ago when I was updating the Simprints page. I wanted to ask for some advice please...

Hi @Sima Bodalikar -- apologies for not responding sooner, but I am not very active at the moment -- it just was very clear to me that your edits were good faith but misunderstanding our policy. Unfortunately, I am going to have to differ to the folks that normally work on COI requests, I simply don't have the energy at the moment. Sadads (talk) 23:52, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented.
HI @Encoded
Thank you so much for the last round of amends. The page is looking great now and will be such a valuable resource to users who are interested in the work of Simprints.
There is one edit that was missed along the way:
Please remove the following from tsentence at the end of the Affiliates section.
Non-current partners and supporters include the Electric Power Research Institute, Grand Challenges Canada and Impact Network.
Please can you then move the below org into the Affiliates list? Link supplied:
Grand Challenges Canada [Kapil, Vinesh. "Fifteen Innovators Get Funding from Saving Lives at Birth | Saving Lives at Birth". savinglivesatbirth.net. Retrieved 2018-05-16.]
Please can you add the below into the Affiliates list:
Engineering for Change [1]
I will continue to look for supportive links so that we add the missing organisations into the Affliates list.
Partly done: I've removed the text and added Engineering for Change, unfortunately it looks as though the saving lives at birth link pasted incorrectly, do you still have this? Many thanks, EncodedTalk 💬19:41, 22 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
