It has been a while since this article has been reviewed, so I took a look and noticed lots of uncited statements, including entire paragraphs. The article is also quite large and I think several sections can be summarised more effectively. Should this article go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 19:16, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Use excerpt of lead from the Sport in Sheffield article eventually

The Sport in Sheffield article has multiple issues currently but if the standard of that article was improved, it's my view that using an excerpt of its lead might be a better approach than maintaining a summary of Sheffield Sport on this article as well as maintaining the main Sport in Sheffield article. Good idea. Is there (sourced) content here that should into the Sport in Sheffield article to improve it? Otherwise, I'd just be bold and do it right now. 10mmsocket (talk) 08:00, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@10mmsocket I'm sure we could take good sources from this article and add them to the Sport in Sheffield article if they are missing. That article is lacking references so it wouldn't be surprising.
I think that Sport in Sheffields lead is quite good but the body of the article needs a fair amount of work. So I'd start there and see if the article's lead is still fit for purpose. At that point I would swap out the Sheffield article's Sport section for the excerpt. Duncnbiscuit (talk) 08:09, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
