- without: nothing obviously primary of the rest
Where are you going with this. Hyperbolic function dominates, but how many are specifically looking for Hyperbolic secant (sech)? Hard to say for sure, but there's no clear evidence that it's a lot.

- I'd be weary of using the target articles' pageviews in situations with alternative names and subtopics. The more relevant pageviews are these [1]: the Hyperbolic secant there differs from Hyperbolic secant by the addition of a non-printing character, and it's only used on this dab page [2]. So, these pageviews reveal that only one in five readers landing on the dab page click through to the hyperbolic functions article, and this is strongly indicative of the sech function not being a primary topic here. Do you think this is enough to warrant a move of the dab page to the primary title, or would we need the full deliberations of an RM panel? – Uanfala (talk) 11:57, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Sech (disambiguation) → Sech – sech(x) is the hyperbolic secant and so Sech is currently a redirect to Hyperbolic function – this is sensible enough, but it's not immediately obvious that one notational representation of one among the (half a) dozen functions treated in the target article should take precedence over the other topics on the dab page. I made an experiment in redirecting Sech to the dab page and then piping the link to the hyperbolic function via an obscure redirect [3], and the results reveal that only one in five readers who land on the dab page click on the link to the function, or one in three of those who arrived via the redirect Sech did so [4]. This stronly suggests that readers will best be served if the disambiguation page is moved to the primary title. – Uanfala (talk) 08:31, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

- Moving the redirect's history is a good idea, but wouldn't "trigonometry" be a misnomer here? I think I'd go for Sech function or Sech(x) instead. – Uanfala (talk) 00:52, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
