Merger Reading speed + Speed reading

reading speed and speed reading are different articles... and should have some sort of links to relate to each other..

Against merging the articles. They indeed are separate. Dandv (talk) 07:53, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Speed reading is the more common term and is different than reading speed. Reading speed is more commonly called reading fluency. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.6.26.27 (talk) 20:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also against merging the two articles. Same arguments as above. Hengartn (talk) 14:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also against merging. Reading speed is just a quotient (total words read / total time). Speed reading is a concept and definitely deserves an article. The history of speed reading goes back at least over a century. Also, speed reading itself is its own subject, just like trigonometry. You could merge the trigonometry article into the math article, but that would not make sense. I am against the merging since "reading speed" is totally different than "speed reading" unless you don't understand the distinguishment, in which case I suggest looking them up in an online encyclopedia. 76.4.131.125 (talk) 16:27, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am also against a merger. Reading speed is a method of quickly delving through text, where as Reading speed describes the rate of which reading is done. The merger tag has been removed due to the relative inactivity and almost overwhelming opposition. A see also or a further reading should be put in its place. Changed to redirect

Reading speed = Reading rate, which is covered by a section of the article Reading, so I have made this into a redirect to that section. PamD (talk) 08:12, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
