Mention of Chamberlain-Moulton hypothesis?

A bit into the first section it says "According to the Chamberlin–Moulton planetesimal hypothesis and the theories of Viktor Safronov, a protoplanetary disk of materials such as gas and dust would orbit a star early in the formation of a planetary system." I'm confused by the mention of the Chamberlin-Moulton hypothesis as when you look at that page, it seems it is no longer the accepted theory. Wouldn't it be better to cut the mentions of it entirely? It would seem so. Internal differentiation would imply hydrostatic equilibrium. But the context is different: formation of the Solar system vs. current geology.
Hm, I take that back. You could perhaps have partial differention without full equilibrium. Also, what about a case like Vesta, which was (presumably) once in equilibrium, but no longer is? It's a protoplanet, but is it a DP? — kwami (talk) 00:27, 11 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
