== Does ISO 9001 promote or mandate the process approach?

While in its section 0.2, the standard promotes the process approach, in section 4.2 it requires identification of processes, their interrelations and criteria. This can be seen as tantamount to mandating. However, application of the standard is voluntary, therefore I feel the prior wording "mandate" was not matching too well. I plan to develop some flesh on this important topic. It also is also too heavily oriented towards general business without mentioning the role process plays in project management. Although, the See Also material cites a number of project management items ... Its interesting to note that IT split off to a separate page. Having reread the page a number of times, I would recommend that a new page be developed with this title ... Process management (Project Management). The page head would be revised to this ...
