"The fushanwuyingjiao is a Kung Fu move developed by the Chinese legend Huang Fei Hong. The fushanwuying jiao is a high-level move that involves striking the foe with multiple kicks that strikes at such a speed that the foe or any bystanders cannot actually see the user's feet striking the foe. The user jumps into a horizontal position and kicks anywhere from 5-20 kicks on the opponent's chest before standing back up. The fushanwuyingjiao is demonstrated in some Huang Fei Hong movies. The fushanwuyingjiao literally translates into Fushan Shadowless Kicks.

that is complete and utter nonsense. the "No Shadow Kick" as portrayed in the movies has nothing to do with the real "No Shadow kick". this kick is supposedly a single snapping front kick which was said to be so fast "you couldn't see the shadow". the cinematic fushanwuyingjiao is preformed on a wire (-"look, I can see you're on a wire, look, there it is!" -"I am not on a wire, I am flying!"), and even accomplished martial artists can not utilize it. "The user jumps into a horizontal position and kicks anywhere from 5-20 kicks on the opponent's chest before standing back up". most martial artists are lucky to get even three kicks while in midair, let alone do it horizontally. stop being obsessed with cinematic Kung fu. the real thing is nothing like it. Intriguing? Sad, really. there are so many misconceptions about kung fu, and this is just one of the most glaring one. LyTe

A further elaboration of this type of kick from Sifu Dan Inosanto, stated speed was favored over power, because the practitioner could have a sharpened coin, used as a blade, embedded on the side of the shoe.

Another explaination I heard from a Shaolin practitioner was that the kick, properly delivered, showed no visible change in the shadow of the main body - it being very steady during the kick. joeygil

The kick has always been a legend and there are numerous interpretations, twisted again and again by television dramas and wuxia fiction.

There is no actual 'official' no-shadow kick.
