I agree with the decision of merging the article of NBF to that of NetBEUI as both of them are same. Moreover, putting them apart can only cause confusion to some. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rahul s55 (talk • contribs) 10 November 2005.

Although NBF and NetBEUI were merged a while ago these historically have not been the same as NetBIOS and its extensions NetBEUI are APIs and not protocols. NBF on the other hand is a network protocol that defines network transports via IEEE802.2 LLC (which most of this article seems to refer to). How can the "Speed advantage over TCP/IP" test be possible? What type of transfer method was used? I feel that this isn't backed up by facts. It can't be possible if no compression was used by the way (as 100mbit will make a top speed of 12.5 MiB/s). Aqualize 21:16, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I’m thinking it should be deleted, as it appears to be original research. Also, are instructions on how to enable NetBEUI on Windows XP really appropriate here?

I agree with the statement that NetBeui can be installed on Vista and indeed it does work perfectly between Vista and any other Windows Operating System (Server 2003, XP, Server and Pro 2000, NT Server and Workstation, win98, etc. all of which I have tested), however there seems to be a problem with Vista to Vista communication using it, or actually with any protocol communication between two Vista machines when it is enabled). This should possibly be noted in the writeup. It should be noted that I have found it very useful as a 2nd protocol as an alternative to NAT when connecting machines on a Private TCP/IP network to machines configured with Internet TCP/IP addresses (UTC) Wreichert 19:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
