Hey! I will be reviewing this GA! The article looks good so far, very thorough but not overly detailed.
Before doing a full review, however, I have noticed that there are many unsourced statements/paragraphs in the article. Most of "1989–2003" and the first two paragraphs of "2004–2014" are unsourced, and so are various other sentences, such as "He starred in the films The Smurfs (2011) and The Smurfs 2 (2013)" and "Later in 2014, Harris played the role of Desi Collings in Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher".
As this is quite a lot of information, the article is not to GA standards yet - however, I do not want to quickfail it as there is a lot of potential, so I will put the review on hold and when the sourcing is fixed, I will do a full thorough review :) In the meantime, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions! Full review:
Hey, I have finally gone through and done a full review. First of all, well done on the article! It is very good and you should be very proud for your hard work. I ran the IABOT and archived some sources and I also went through and made some minor changes, most of which were just to improve the wordings and sentence structures etc. Here are my comments - most of them are quite minor and are just about clarity or sourcing:
Lead:
1.) "On stage, he made his Broadway debut in the David Auburn play Proof in 2002, after starring as Mark Cohen in the national tour of Rent" - I think these should be switched around if Rent came before Proof, as it is a bit confusing
2.) "He was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2010.[1]" - This is not mentioned in the main article - could you move this sentence down to the 2004–2014 section? Then the ref can be removed from the lead too
Early life and education:
1.) I would recommend linking or briefly explaining "graduating with high honors" (I think Honors student is the right link?) to provide clarity for readers
2.) "being privately tutored half the school year while on set" - Could you please clarify which set this was, or at least clarify that this was the sets of the film/TV/stage productions that he was on?
1989–2003:
1.) "starring Whoopi Goldberg and based on the novel by Joseph Olshan" - I think this can be removed
2.) The paragraphs are quite small - could you please merge the three into two?
2004–2014:
1.) "The two "riffed" on the film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" - Could this be expanded upon or clarified? What does "riffed" mean?
2.) "opposite Patti LuPone and others" can be removed
3.) "Harris went on to win the 2014 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical" - can you please clarify which role this was for?
4.) "In 2014, Harris turned down the chance to replace David Letterman as host of the Late Show on CBS, stating that he feared he would get bored of the repetition that hosting a nightly talk show would entail" - If the actor claims that he was never offered the job, I think "reportedly" should be added
2015–present:
1.) Can you briefly explain what Netflix is?
2.) "It ran for 3 seasons and 25 episodes before ending on January 1, 2019" - This is unsourced
3.) "The format would test the smarts of the most brilliant children in the country" - Could you rephrase this (particularly "test the smarts"?) please?
4.) "produced by luxury playing card company Theory11" - This is unsourced
5.) "It is currently available exclusively through Target"- This is also unsourced, but also it has the risk of becoming outdated and sounds potentially promotional, so it could be removed or changed to past tense if it was always only offered through Target
6.) "In July 2022, Harris starred in the Netflix series Uncoupled as gay Manhattanite Michael Lawson, a realtor re-navigating the dating scene after 17 years" - This is unsourced
7.) The paragraphs here are very short - could you please merge them into 2 pargraphs?
Personal life: 1.) "Harris is a fan of magic" - Could you please link or briefly explain which type of magic he is interested in?
2.) "Harris is a fan of magic, which was written into his characters on How I Met Your Mother, American Horror Story: Freak Show, and Glee. Harris won the Tannen's Magic Louis Award in 2006 and hosted the 2008 World Magic Awards on October 11, 2008" - Could you please add a source (or more)?
3.) "has also lent his name to a French-Swedish sportswear brand called Ron Dorff" - What does "lent his name" mean?
4.) "Harris is an agnostic" - This still has the non-primary source tag, so I think it may be worth removing if a secondary source cannot be found.
Other:
1.) Is it possible to source the bibliography and audiobooks sections?
2.) The infobox image is a bit big - could you please make it a bit smaller?
3.) Is there any other info that can be added to his career section that is not just about his appearances? For examples, if there are any facts about how Harris found working on certain projects or if there were any auditions he did not receive etc. - I think it would strengthen the article
4.) A lot of the "he starred with x" can be removed if there is no further info
5.) Some of the sources are missing the website/publication titles' links (e.g. The Hollywood Reporter and Rolling Stone) - could you please add these?
After these have been addressed, I will do a source spotcheck and hopefully pass the article. Please let me know if you have any questions at all or need any help. Well done! You should be so proud for your hard work. We are nearly there! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 03:45, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
