I've just done a bit of goggling and found out why these tiles are so peculiar. Basically it seems to me the current articles does a poor job to explain the shingle-like organization of Mathematical tiling. The article makes very little mention of what mathematical tiles actually are or what they are composed of. Are they wood and what kind of wood exactly? 86.114.207.183 (talk) 06:37, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

They were made of the same materials as "ordinary" tiles (roof tiles, for example) – so baked clay would have been the most likely material for most mathematical tiles. I will try to work that into the article. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 10:11, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
