Operations

Hello editors. The article currently is missing general company information. This includes the headquarters, which is in the introduction but my understanding is content there needs to be in the article itself too. Similarly, public trading and the number of employees.

The reason I did not suggest something like "Corporate overview" for this section is because I also would like editors to consider placing the current Production section in this new section as a subheading.

The first sentence in the current Production section is not well sourced; it uses a Medium blog and a profile on a defunct, non journalistic site. The following graf is outdated, with its information current as of 2005.

This proposal below uses better sources, provides more robust background history, and has a 2025 update for production:

  Edit request declined

  • The claim The manufacturing operations in China produce approximately half of Logitech's products does not cohere with a quote from CEO Bracken Darrell in the Bloomberg source provided by the COI editor, where Darrell states we make everything in China.

Products line section

While the above request is being considered, I would like to suggest an additional proposal for editors to review.

Currently, the article has a Products line section, which is limited in scope. It has an outdated bullet point list without any citations. I would like to suggest first renaming this section Products to expand the scope. Additionally, the list should be removed and replaced with more substantive information. My proposal suggests a similarly named "Lines and offerings" subheading with sourced information.

Please let me know what you think! Logitech Maya (talk) 00:44, 27 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

🔼  Clarification requested

  • The directions[1] offered by the COI editor are confusing.[a]
  • To keep the directions simple, please provide only 4 elements with your request:
  1. Please state each specific desired change and accompanying reference in the form of verbatim statements which can then be added to the article (if approved) by the reviewer.
  2. The exact location where the desired claims are to be placed should be given.
  3. Exact, verbatim descriptions of any text and/or references to be removed should also be given.[2]
  4. Reasons should be provided for each change.[3]
  • In the section of text below titled Sample edit request, the four required items are shown as an example:
  • Kindly open a new edit request at your earliest convenience when ready to proceed with all four items from your request.

Notes

  1. ^ The directions offered by the COI editor stated that some of the information in a section which was outdated should:
    1. first be renamed
    2. then gutted, with a list inside of it being removed
    3. then refilled with additional information.
There is no need for these cumbersome directions when only 4 items are necessary to effect a change in the article via a COI edit request.

Revised Operations section request

Hello, I have a request to add an Operations section using the draft below in the collapse box. Here are the specifics of the request:

Please consider expanding the scope of the Product lines section to a more general Products section so other information has an appropriate spot to be placed. The information is unsourced, so the proposal updates it with sourced text within a Lines and offerings subheading. The beginning of the section adds new encyclopedic information not yet in the article. Please let me know if there are any questions, thanks! Logitech Maya (talk) 17:46, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Reminder All instances of Bloomberg & Forbes in the references need |quote= and |author= parameters activated because (i) they're paywalled, and (ii) to ensure they're not WP:BLOOMBERGPROFILES / WP:FORBESCON. Regards,  Spintendo  23:00, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Exact location: Very top of new Operations section
  • Reasons for change: Adds encyclopedic information about the company's functions not currently in this article.

Request: Move Production section

  • Specific change: Move the Production section as a subsection within proposed Operations
  • Exact location: at end of Operations section
  • Verbatim text and/or references to be removed: Production heading name
  • Reasons for change: This is operational information and better suited here.

Request: Remove text Production section

  • Specific change: Remove the text within this section
  • Exact location: Currently in the Production section
  • Verbatim text and/or references to be removed:
The first Logitech mice, starting from the P4, were made in Le Lieu, in the Swiss Canton of Vaud[1] by Dubois Dépraz SA.[2]

Production facilities were then established in the United States, Taiwan, Hungary and Ireland before being moved to Suzhou, China. As of 2005, the manufacturing operations in China produce approximately half of Logitech's products. The remaining production is outsourced to contract manufacturers and original design manufacturers in Asia.[3]

  • Reasons for change: 1) Medium and "oldmouse .com" do not meet the sourcing standards of this site. 2) sourcing does not support "approximately half of Logitech's products" claim 3) remaining information will be requested for new location

Request: Add information Production subsection

  • Description: Add content to the proposed Production subsection within the proposed Operations section
  • Specific change: Add the following,
Production facilities were established in the United States, Taiwan, and Ireland before being moved to Suzhou, China.[1] Logitech started manufacturing in China in 1992.[2] It opened a new, larger manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China in 2005.[3]

Logitech's manufacturing started in Ireland and later moved to Taiwan, then finally to China.[4] Logitech since then has expanded production to Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Mexico.[5] In response to tariffs, Logitech shifted its production in 2025 for its goods sold in the United States. Prior to this, 40 percent of items sold in the United States were made in China.[6] By 2026, this was reduced to less than 10 percent.[7]

  • Exact location: End of proposed Operations section
  • Reasons for change:

Summary of request: Please consider adding an Operations section with a Production subheading to replace the current Production section. This would give an appropriate spot for corporate information and other broad details to and organize the information in a more logical way. The text proposed is either new or moved text and some information was removed due to sourcing issues. Please let me know if there are any questions, thanks!
