Linear and rotary

RVDT link added. 212.120.84.45 (talk) 03:05, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The link in External Links seems to be dead. Is there any other place where this information can be found? -- 131.202.8.221 (talk) 17:43, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Displacement and linear

I have the sense that "linear" is getting the wrong emphasis. The LVDT measures displacement along a line, but the output of the LVDT is a very nearly linear function of that displacement. See the callout of "linear range" at this external link at Figure D.

Furthermore, an LVDT has long, slender, coils to avoid troubling end effects. See illustration at Figure A (coils should be even more slender). Sadly, the current WP illustration shows short stubby coils.

Incorrect. The coils are longer than the desired operating stroke, but as in some cases, such as pressure transducers, the operating stroke is less than 1mm, the coils really do end up being relatively short and fat. I attempted to explain that properly, but it seems that you are insistent on reverting such factual changes so I shall not bother again. Tiger99 (talk) 18:28, 23 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Synchronous detector

The link to a wikipedia page "synchronous detector" goes nowhere. Is there another name for a synchronous detector? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.68.16.82 (talk) 22:24, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Should probably be synchronous demodulator? Haven't got time to check right now.
