"Squid King blamed the situation he faced on the credit scoring system and Freedom of Information Act, stating that people will live in misery if they cannot maintain a credit score. He described the financial status of most middle class in the United States as 'weak' and the situation as a 'kill Line'."
@Saimmx The blaming of FOIA seems out of left field, since it's entirely about citizens being able to request access to government documents, which shouldn't have any impact on a person's ability to avoid homelessness. The rest of the paragraph doesn't address its relevance at all, and the English machine translations of the two cited sources didn't illuminate the connection either (I unfortunately cannot read any form of Chinese). Could you elaborate on what this means?
(Side note: there's a lot of inconsistency in the capitalization of "kill line" / "Kill Line" / "kill Line" throughout the article, unsure if this is intentional or not.) ARoseThorn (talk) 05:38, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

I tried to verify some of the sources. Almost everything is in chinese. While I do have a good enough gasp of the language, verifying the sources made me feel like I'm having a stroke. The english text on the wiki does not match what the sources said at all. I'm not sure if it's due to some translation issue, or the article's just written in a fast and loose manner. I'll try to edit it to fit the sources better. Unfortunately, there isn't much english source. Anothercat613 (talk) 10:45, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
The term "kill line" originates from role-playing games (RPGs) and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games, referring to a threshold at which a character can be eliminated with single attack once their health falls below a certain level." is translated from "
“斩杀线”原为RPG以及MOBA等多种游戏术语,来源于《魔兽世界》一词为“斩杀(Execution)”之词:指敌对单位血量跌至可被一击出局、一击必杀的临界值。" - with two sources: NYT and CCTV. Not sure why the CCTV was removed. Saimmx (talk) 17:08, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
