i wanted to request to change the flag of iran to be changed to "shir o khorshid" aka "sun and lion" if possible and any islamic refrence be replaced -AND ANY ARABIC REFRENCE WORDS OR ANYTHING BE REPLACED WITH PERSIAN Nullgang12 (talk) 14:40, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The term "hereditary dictatorship" implies that a supreme leader's successor is determined by law (or custom) to be his son (or some family member). However, according to Iran's constitution (Article 111), the Assembly of Experts is tasked with electing, supervising, and dismissing the supreme leader, as demonstrated by the choosing of Ali Khamenei as Khomeini's successor in 1989 despite the fact that there were no family relations between the two. The fact that the current supreme leader simply happens to be the previous one's son does not turn Iran into a "hereditary dictatorship". In fact, as far as I know, not a single high position of power in Iran is hereditary (you may find a lot of nepotism among those with power, but that doesn't mean the form of government is hereditary). you can see the relevant Wikipedia article here: Supreme Leader of Iran Alookhoshke (talk) 10:33, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

I request the following sentence be removed from the lead's 4th paragraph:

"and Iran subsequently annexed the Strait of Hormuz."

This sentence was recently added but is unsourced, not in the body, and POV pushing. Although Iran has claimed sovereignty over the strait, there are no sources claiming that it has actually successfully annexed it during the ongoing war or even attempted officially to do so. Current talks with Oman are about shared administration as well and this sentence ignores Oman. ~2026-43592-81 (talk) 06:56, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
