Would like to discuss infollution, information pollution, and globalization. Would like to make references to, eg, Paul Krugman's The World Is Flat, as a benefit of informatization. Ming-Chih Kao (talk) 03:11, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Changes to the article (May 2009)

I've done a major review of this article for a course assignment. I have re-written a lot of the content trying to go back to the title topic because I had noticed that, on the previous version, the definition made sense but then there was an array of topics vaguely related to "information pollution" and most of it had no source citations. I have removed most of that content and written new sections to explain what information pollution is, when it appears, why, what effects it has and how it can be minimised and I have provided references for all the new content.

Infollution

I left a paragraph about the term infollution under "related terms" because there seemed to be a lot about it in the previous version of the article and, at the moment, "infollution" redirects to "information pollution". I felt bad removing it all, but I'm afraid I was unable to find any references to substantiate this information. Perhaps someone else could take a look and decide whether it needs to stay.

I hope I'm on the right track with the changes. Thanks!

So showing the Wiki logo as an example is vandalism? Come on, if "contamination of information supply with irrelevant, redundant, unsolicited and low-value information" doesn't perfectly describe Wikipedia I don't know what does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.111.88.167 (talk) 07:32, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
