Wilson's model is only one kind of information seeking behaviour. There are a number of different models and theories. Wilson's model has served as a foundation for these other models, but is not synonymous with the over-arching field of information seeking behaviour. We believe Wilson's model is complex enough that it should be explored in-depth in its own article. Conflating Wilson's model with the article discussing Information Behavior et al. would be like combining the pages on French Cooking and Julia Childs' Mastering the Art of French Cooking— one is a subset of the other but they are not synonymous and definitely belong on separate pages. I apologize to have raised this again. Currently, I do not see any mention to the specific model from anywhere but the author himself and the more general lemma. Plus, the limited references on Wilson's model -exclusively by Wilson himself- suggest that the general relevance of this model might be rather limited. -- Kku (talk) 12:06, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think that a merge would unbalance the target, particularly given that so much of the work is a summart of Wilson's work; perhaps a better target might be Thomas D. This article will undergo major revisions on my behalf between now and April. This work is part of a directed study for a PhD level directed study in Library and Information Science. The goal of this work will to change the article so that it represents information behavior models, theories, and research methods from the introduction of information needs and uses by Wilson (1981) to present research that looks beyond information seeking and at behaviour associated with information.
