I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: I am highly dubious about this page. The single application paper mentioned is from 2004 and has 36 cites, which is not a lot, and the main sources are 1972 & 1976. Most current fixed point algorithms use some version of Anderson or Broyden methods (e.g. CT Kelly's work or the brief section in Nocedal & Wright), admittedly most of this is with derivatives. I am not that familiar with fixed-point (aka non-linear equations) methods without derivatives, but the lack of more recent sources raises major flags about notability.

The paper got 588 citations, which is not a small number. In any case, if you think it is not notable enough, I can move it to a subsection of fixed-point computation. --Erel Segal (talk) 20:22, 16 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Erel Segal, no updates? I think it would be better to just have this as a redirect. I confess that I have problems with fixed-point computation -- why is Broyden's method ignored? That is the 900lb gorilla, in terms of applications, with density functional theory the monster there. (Not enough people have recognized that the methods used are fixed-point solvers, e.g. https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.jctc.1c00630 (COI)). Ldm1954 (talk) 05:10, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
