I doubt the end date of 1949 for the Irish office of Clerk of the Crown and Hanaper. This happens to be the date of the Ireland Act 1949. Obviously nothing so piffling as the abolition of this office is in the text of the Act itself, but it might conceivably have been effected by some consequent order. Considering Irish representative peers were not elected after 1922, and the Courts of Justice Act 1924 abolished the remaining vestiges of Chancery, it seems likely that in practice it was obsolete by 1924 at the latest, though something might have migrated to Belfast. jnestorius(talk) 13:08, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
