A table of authoring tools would be good, too.

that table of client support was rather cryptic, what's the difference between VOD and Live? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.191.60.249 (talk) 14:36, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
Some mention of this on the ALAC/Apple Lossless talk page, so added here as a reference place maker. Jimthing (talk) 17:10, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Someone needs to address this. I don't have the time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.50.88.56 (talk) 20:37, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
"In this case is generated a different flows with the same quality video and locations are listed in the index file."
Thank you. 219.89.201.169 (talk) 22:18, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
In the list of Clients I am missing Mozilla Firefox. Can someone add the relevant info (I am unfortunately not technical enough to do this) or is there a specific reason to omit Firefox? Regards from beautiful Hamburg in Germany 91.47.186.218 (talk) 14:05, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

With lav filters m3u8 and hls / applehttp can be opened in GraphEdit with Seeking working (most simple DirectShow supporting players) but support with WMP may not work (at least with version I have). 91.155.16.162 (talk |Contribs) 11:21, 19 July 2018
Windows 11 has an updated media player that supports hls playlists. I don't know how to test if it supports drm. Perrinpages (talk) 12:34, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
most recent patch notes for Firefox mobile for android indicate this protocol/feature is now deprecated in that specific browser. may be useful to add a blurb about that as well as why the decision was made 2601:580:C201:42E0:DE54:C6F5:A38D:18DD (talk) 16:45, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
The announcement attributed to this source does not seem to appear in the cited website. The page presents a list of talks from the conference, where the only one that seems relevant is about validating video streams. According to the video's transcript, fragmenting MP4s is never mentioned. Paradox (talk) 23:24, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
MediaMTX has support for serving HLS streams, but is not listed in the server implementations. HLS has been supported since version 0.16.0, released May 2021 under the prior project name "RTSP Simple Server".
As of the latest version (1.10.0), it supports all three HLS formats. Original mpeg-ts, fragmented mp4, and low-latency.
Are freeware github projects worth noting in the main article? 74.97.28.214 (talk) 21:42, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
