What is the origin of this name? Greek? How was it pronounced Classic Greek? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.65.116.97 (talkcontribs) 03:19, August 24, 2006 (UTC)

Are all subsequent Christian Georges named for Saint George? --LostLeviathan 04:41, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
The origins of this name is Greek. Comes from the greek word Georgos (Γεωργός) which means farmer. The word Γεωργος is a compound word, formed by the words Γη (earth, soil) and έργο (work).[1] --Tdgs 21:06, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Giorgio

Given the number of the people with the Italian variant "Giorgio", shouldn't there also be a page about people named Giorgio? Because frankly, I looked up Giorgio on Wikipedia½⅓¼⅜ and there are countless Giorgios, some of which are quite prominent.(Myscrnnm 21:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC))Reply

lake George

There are many of places called Lake George. It seems random to list only two of them (Australia and New York). I'm not sure how best to handle this but perhaps include the link to the Lake George disambiguation page and remove those two instances. Jojalozzo (talk) 18:40, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
