aviation terminology

Helicopters which utilize shrouded rotors are said to have "festooned" rotors. It is not at all uncommon for a helicopter type to feature a festooned tailrotor (Eurocopter's EC135, Sikorsky's S76, Agusta's AS365), it reportedly offers noticable reduction in the volume of the tail rotor. Festooned tail rotors are also reputedly safer, offering some protection from the blades of the tail rotor to ground workers.
