Logically, the wiki figure is incorrect. A negative externality in production means that the socially optimal production should be lower and the equilibrium price should be higher. The figure has all of this backwards. An example to consider is pollution from a factory; negative externality in production. Both graphs for the positive and negative production externalities are incorrect.
