Talk:Everyone's Internet

Page move

I moved the page from "Everyone's Internet" to "Everyones Internet" to reflect actual company name.--Gosub 15:33, 27 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup?

That is rare. This should be a NPOV discussion. But there ist nothing?

Indeed that is weird. Sadly that is what often happens. People call it for cleanup, without explicitly stating why. Anyway, I am going to switch it to stub now, because that's what it is. Oh, how I enjoy being a Wikipedian. Finally I can do something right.

Where's the Merger Discussion

I know the merger discussion closed on 15 Oct 07, but where's the discussion? It seems odd the consensus was to merge The Planet Internet Services with Everyones Internet considering the companies merged and the one left is The Planet...? - Ageekgal 04:26, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, [I found it]. Not many votes... and one mentions the same issue -- shouldn't Everyones Internet be merged INTO The Planet, and not the other way around the way the header states? I've never merged an article or participated in a merge discussion, so humor me. - Ageekgal 04:28, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hello – I'm the admin who closed the AFD, and I was asked to come here. It doesn't matter, really, which article gets merged into the other, which is what I meant when I said the name of the new, combined article can be decided later. This article is the larger of the two, so it seemed logical to me to take the smaller article and work it into the content of the larger one. (I think I live in one of the eight states _not_ served by this company, so I don't know anything about it other than what's in these two articles.) If you guys decide that Everyones Internet should be merged into The Planet instead, that's fine too. Whatever is decided on the talk page is what should happen.
If you haven't done a merge, it's not complicated, and it's described well at WP:MERGE. Take the content of both articles and make a single article out of it. When you're done, create a redirect from the old, empty article to the new, combined one, and you're done. If you need help beyond what's at WP:MERGE, let me know. Happy editing – KrakatoaKatie 08:31, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the clarification. I'll see if I can't get to this, if no one beats me to it. - Ageekgal 03:03, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did the merge, ending up at The Planet Internet Services. 1.5 years late.... --Alvestrand (talk) 05:41, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am adding a rant here about Wikipedia as relates deletion of this article and more

Let me first note that this legitimate discussion MAY be deleted by the overzealous wikipedia Ninny Nanny Goats.

I wanted a good write up on ThePlanet. I have a website and need to know more. Going to the company in questions website yields little in information of functional nature. So I turn to WIKIPEDIA. What do I find when I arrive? That you are going to merge it with another article.

I'm getting tired of wikipedia doing this. Have PageNazis going around killing useful pages is a DUMB idea. I have attempted to contribute in the past only to have PageNazis erase the contributions. This is OUT OF HAND.

For this reason I have contributed exactly 1 cent with a comment that paraphrases my frustration discussed above! How far down this ruling junta road do you want to go ? To me its already too far to the direction. I understand what the dynamics are and what you are trying to prevent. For the love of christmas ego has gotten way too far into this ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.34.48.155 (talk) 16:58, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
