Requested move

I request move of "Eagles Building (disambiguation)" to "Eagles Building".

There are two NRHP sites in Ohio listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Eagles Building (Dayton, Ohio) and Eagles Building (Lorain, Ohio). Neither is primary. A disambiguation page at the name Eagles Building was created sometime with just the two listed. An editor has asserted, incorrectly, that the Dayton one is "primary" and moved it to the "Eagles Building" name, which I request should be the disambiguation page name. He/she moved the disambiguation page to "Eagles Building (disambiguation)". The previous editor's edit summary suggests he/she judged that the Dayton one was "primary" because at the time it was a blue-link while the other was a red-link. That is incorrect reasoning because it is just random which of two NRHP articles had previously been created. The editor asserted no knowledge of the sites, and i believe he/she has no such knowledge.

It is entirely within MOS guidelines to have a disambiguation page with just two entries, if neither is clearly primary (the case here), and it is fine for there to be red-links in disambiguation pages so the editor's move, without knowledge of the sites, was incorrect. I have further created the second article stub, to take away even the incorrect reasoning that a blue-link is more primary than a red-link.

I already went through one round of corrections to this, putting a speedy-type request at wp:Requested moves because i thought it was an obvious correction to make. That request was in fact contested, so this is a second, full request.

I have fixed what I could, moving the Dayton info to the Eagles Building (Dayton, Ohio) name, but i cannot make the move of the disambiguation page to the Eagles Building name. I could just cut and paste the disambiguation page info over the redirect, but I am requesting that it be done properly by an administrator.

I will post notice about this at wp:WikiProject Disambiguation and wp:NRHP. doncram (talk) 03:34, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
