The article only describe divisions polynomial in the context of Schoof algorithm, but actually the notion is defined for any model of elliptic curves, not just short Weierstrass form. Also they are normally defined as bivariate polynomials over the definition field, instead of multivariate by including the model coefficient which is less natural. 82.244.80.154 (talk) 21:39, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

The text has a paragraph about how the size of the l-torsion in GF(p), being l^2,l or 1, implies the degree is one of three appropriate choices.
