Right now, especially the later sections focus a particular amount on products from Microsoft. Other examples that could be highlighted:

- Intel Infrastructure Processing Units (IPUs)

The difficulty with getting into specific vendors is good sources, which are really scanty for this subject—like enough that it barely clears the bar for notability in general IMO. Marketing blogs, press releases, articles on obscure websites of unknown repute, etc. are not really sufficient for Wikipedia material in almost all cases, and that's most of what's available. The small handful of decent secondary sources I've found on this topic don't really seem to me to provide much of a basis for going into specific vendors beyond just listing a few, which is not very informative and kind of just amounts to giving haphazard free advertising to whomever we decide to mention (plus I don't want to encourage all the people who come to edit this page trying to push one company or another's products, like you were pointing out with Microsoft). Because it's a space that's rapidly changing, too, and because this article doesn't necessarily get a lot of regular attention, a list like that could also easily become out-of-date and go a long time without being updated. Generally see WP:NOTACATALOGUE. People in the industry who need to choose a vendor are free to avail themselves of whatever information is out there at the time, much of which would probably not clear the bar for inclusion in a Wikipedia article even if they find it useful.

If DPUs/SmartNICs start getting a lot more attention in the press, even the reputable tech press, we may end up with enough substantive material on a specific vendor to discuss them without running afoul of these issues. ^('"_'⁾ (Mesocarp) (talk) _(@) 01:14, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
