Newborough announced in February 2015 that he was abandoning further development of CrunchBang Linux, feeling that it no longer served a purpose.[1] The user community was not in complete agreement, and proceeded to develop successor distributions CrunchBang++ (#!++) and CrunchBang-Molara.
