Merging with vector space

Disagee with merger with vector space. That article is about vector spaces over any field, while this one is about vector spaces over complex numbers.

This article needs a huge amount of work. Unless anybody does that soon, I think the thing to do would be to redirect it to vector space. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:12, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

This material is already covered else (eigenvalue, inner product space, spectral theorem, and shouldn't be covered at vector space. I'd say just redirect. Complex vector space already redirects there. -- Fropuff 04:48, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
I tried a redirect but was overruled by ArnoldReinhold. James084 14:12, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

You first tagged the page for expert review and then redirected. I thought your first instinct was right. It's not a frivolous page and deserves some thought before it is effectively deleted. Maybe redirect ultimately is the right answer, but the page does have proofs of important results presented at a more elementary level than the articles mentioned above. --agr 00:17, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I removed then the merge tag, as that would require a huge amount of work which nobody feels like doing, and even on principle, merging would not be a good idea. If this articles stays that way for a while, I will quietly redirect it to vector space. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 00:44, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
