The name of the village is from Campus Franci, literally the "field of the Franks" (Franci = "Franks"/"French") , not foreigners.--92.91.49.90 (talk) 21:05, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Somebody might want to add as a reference the French book (perhaps a translation from a Spanish work), Canfranc, nid d'espions by Ramón J. Campo.
