Unrelated site reference in "History" section

In the paragraph starting "On June 11, 1997, Philippe Kahn instantly shared the first pictures from the maternity ward where his daughter Sophie was born", I've removed a reference to the URL http://babyphone-vergleich-test.de/babyphone-ratgeber (defunct, but archived at https://web.archive.org/web/20161129025451) which solely deals with recommendations on baby monitors, with Philippe Kahn or this article's topic not even remotely being mentioned. -- HH 95.90.248.217 (talk) 01:52, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Too much Samsung?

I get the feeling someone who works for Samsung has raked through this page to add every model they can think of as a marketing ploy (I counted 25 product mentions). I'm not going to delete anything, but it clearly needs some balance as there were multiple camera phone manufacturers. Phdacademicgenius (talk) 14:55, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's perhaps because there is not that much worthy of mentioning or it is not documented well enough. For example, could the Xperia S capture photos in midst of filming a video? We don't know. But we do know that the Xperia Z could only take low-resolution photographs while filming. If you have information about the other brands (Sony, HTC, LG, Apple), feel free to add it. (addition: Note that there are also 26 Sony mentions, 14 Apple mentions and 13 HTC mentions.) Best, Elominius (talk) 22:55, 3 August 2023 (UTC) - last modified 23:18, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dated

Article has dated references from mid 2010s e.g. "facebooking" "3G" "modern" to refer to 2013-2014. ~2026-11808-47 (talk) 19:35, 22 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the "Notable events involving camera phones" section

There is a very noticeable gap between 2009 and 2020 in the listed events, and surely a lot of things has had to happen in the 11 years, no? And considering the age of this article and the events listed, this might've been a highlight of the new revolutionary technology at the time which now became ubiquitous. I'm proposing to merge this with the "Social Impact" section. I'm not editing anything yet. Sorry if I'm doing this wrong, I'm new here. IS CBR (talk) 11:15, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
