The ROM lab has been of the opinion that radiodont setal blades are generally ventral, and they confirmed this is the case for at least Stanleycaris. Evidence from other formations indicates that setal blades are, more likely, generally dorsal. The degree of association with the flaps varies. For Cambroraster, it seems to me that the ROM team is probably correct to place them ventrally. The body is described as sub-triangular, more strongly convex ventrally. The setal blades follow this curve tightly. I think specimen ROMIP 65088 (Moysiuk and Caron, 2019, Supp. Fig 1a,b) shows this best. I think its difficult to reckon this fossil with a dorsal placement for the setal blades.
