This should probably just be redirected somewhere else, but I'm not sure where. It appears that the phenomenon described is merely radiant heating of a sample to the point of incandescence. While this may have seemed like a distinct phenemenon at the time, it's really not from a modern scientific perspective. --Srleffler 17:29, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
