I believe that the company was/is a large owner of retail property in the UK, and in the years following the closure of the C&A retail chain. they have continued to make good profits from their portfolio. "Man at C&A" was the name, or at least the byline, used in the Menswear Department of C&A in the 1970s or before. You can find adverts on YouTube referencing this. So not invented as a slur in the 1980s as the article currently infers. Though it was used ironically in this manner. ~2026-57819-1 (talk) 00:29, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
