Opening is weak
WRT current open "In embedded systems, a board support package (BSP) is the layer of software containing hardware-specific routines, such as boot loaders, device drivers, and sometimes kernels, that allow a given embedded operating system (often a real-time operating system) to function in a given hardware environment (a motherboard). The board support package is usually provided by the SoC manufacturer (such as Qualcomm), and may be modified by the OEM."
- yes, it may contain routines, but importantly/notably/often includes data/config files. Note that the example section lists multiple data/config files.
- a BSP does not contain multiple boot loaders or kernels which the wording could imply
- why mention Qualcomm? Seems arbitrary and overly Qualcomm-centric.
- Awkward to mention SoC when previous sentence mentions motherboard. Word salad and overly techy and confusing to the layperson.
- Mention of OEM is word salad and confusing to the layperson.
