I removed the ridiculous idea that it might have actually been a car accident with Del Rio's ring announcer and that it might have actually happened and been put on Monday Night Raw. That is utterly ridiculous. The INJURY might have been real but from another incident. He's not the youngest world champion in history. The youngest would be Lou Thesz, who won the National Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Championship (the title that would become the National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Championship) at age 21. Hey, I've been watching a lot of wrestling videos and during the fights Big Show is always billed as weighing 500 pounds. Should we change this? They always say he's the 7 foor 500 pounder. Last night on Raw the JOJO said Big Show weighs 395lbs.

The information about a divorce from his second wife and having 2 children with her really needs a better source. IMDB.com is not completely reliable and I haven't found another, more reliable source that states this information. Just thought I'd share that on here. Some idiot had put AJ was killed so fixed it to show she was inadvertently knocked out and taken out on a stretcher. Also fixed the HORRIBLE spelling before it. Also took out that he turned heel in the process. We dont know for sure since Show was upset afterwards and crowd wasnt booing him. I would say Bryan is slowly turning heel since acquiring the championship before I would put Show as a heel. -KV

I seem to remember it was the Chokeslam(sometimes a falling version, as in he went all the way to an almost prone position with the opponent in hand) that was the Show Stopper finisher. On May 7th episode of Raw, Big Show mocked Raw GM John Laurenitis voice and was forced to apologize, which he reluctently did. On the Friday night Smackdown, John Laurenitis pulled his version of the "Montreal Screw Job" and rang the bell when Daniel Bryan put Show into the Yes Lock, then the Raw GM told Big Show he will apologize on the May 14th episode of Raw. On the May 14th episode of Raw, Show went head to head with Kane. At the end of the match Mr. Laurenitis demanded his apology during the match, which resulted in Kane choke slamming Show for the 1-2-3! Afterwards the Raw GM demanded his apology from The Big Show, he apologized, which wasn't enough. Mr Laurenitis then demanded Show to apologize on his knees, Show refused and apologized, and the Raw GM exited the ring, got to the stage and wished Big Show well in his future endeavors, and terminated The Big Show.

The above is what i want to submit to be changed, people keep putting stupid stuff like on may 14th big show was terminated and then commited suicide, this is bull and what im submitting above is a last 2 weeks of the big shows wwe tenure

The Chokeslam has been Show's finisher since he was The Giant in WCW, so why is it listed under 'Signature Moves'? Sure, he doesn't use it as much as he used to since now he usually uses the WMD as his finisher, but I think the Chokeslam should still be placed under 'Finishers'. Oh, and one of the above users is correct, during his current stint as Big Show, the Chokeslam has been referred to as the 'Show Stopper', and his old Leg Drop finisher was called 'The Final Cut'. At the beginning of the WWF section it says Big Show signed a 10 year contract in early 1999. Then in 2007, it says his contract expired in early 2007 and he went on hiatus. Well there's only 8 years between 1999 and 2007. To elaborate on special:diff/738789074 from the earliest archive I have found, OWOW has always listed it as BNB not TBNB, so the cited source did not support the inclusion of any preceding articles to this phrase:

I am wondering if anyone can find any corresponding sources to support this though. It would be ideal if we could, considering the inflammatory nature of the phrase. Recently I have become aware to people objecting on the grounds of BLP when nicknames are potentially offensive.

Firstly, here is a source showing the article subject voluntarily using the term "Bastard" to reference himself, so I believe that aspect of the title should be considered acceptable for that reason:

The above might also support an argument for the creation of the redirect of Extreme Giant and/or the Extreme Giant to here, but I suppose I'll open the floor to some feedback before proceeding, since I've recently been getting some flack of being too WP:BOLD with this. am actually going to just go ahead and just make the first one since I can see @KingOfDX: made the second in October 2006 and it has gone uncontested.

The "Nasty" aspect I did manage to find used by Big Boss Man during a feud. I'm not sure the date/number of the episode but a clip of it is here. He doesn't prefix Nasty with "Big" though, so I'm still unclear as to where OWOW got that part of the name from.

I did notice the mention of "Big Nasty" in the second paragraph of Big Show#The Corporation (1999–2000) which makes me wonder if OWOW possibly just synthesized 2 nicknames into one. The entire paragraph appears to lack a source though, the one I found in the next one is just confirming Show beat BossMan at Armageddon for the title. Tagged that, perhaps if we can confirm if/when he was called Big Nasty that could shed some light on this.

Edit: okay after some extreme digging, you can clearly see him wearing a shirt saying "Big Nasty Bastard" on the front of it when he enters for the fatal 4-way at WrestleMania 2000. Much as I would like to link to an official video confirming this, you can see at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8OQ-Ygsy0k&t=49 they craftily only show clips where his shirt is visible from behind (which only says Big Show on the back) so I'm not sure if WWE still have evidence of that available to display.

What really amazes me though... is I went and flipped through http://www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania/16/wrestlemania2000-photos and in the images where you should be able to see his shirt from the front (25 of 32 and 26 of 32) it only appears to be black on the front.

Is anyone able to verify what I'm saying by watching a copy of this? I don't know if they would still air the uncensored version on the WWE Network or not. If they did censor it like they did with these two photographs then an original VHS recording might be needed pre-censorship from the Attitude Era. All I know is, the means by which I am watching a clip of his entrance and competition in this match, the 'BNB' insignia is on the front of the shirt. There are a few mistakes I noticed in the article that need to be fixed, the Infobox. His correct weight according to the source next to it is he is 383 lbs and he and it says 1994 is when he made his debut, 1995 is when he made his debut. Summarize the most significant events in the wrestler's career for which they are known, including their stints in promotions, and any championships, accomplishments, and awards that they have won. Tallies of the overall championships or world championships won should be avoided. - So outside of "he worked for WCW from blah-to-blah, WWE from here-to-there" it covers everything he style guide. Nothing listed is "against the manual of style" - afterall aren't the main accomplishments in pro wrestling championships and tournaments? But I guess missing the dates he worked for companies is complex enough problem that you could not solve it in the same time it took to tag it? I don't see how saying he worked for this company for these years and he worked for this company for these years, and it yeah he won these titles..., is enough to summarize a 20 year main event career. In his "Personal life" section of the article, the info about his assault on a guy in 1999 should be a separated info as "Legal troubles" if someone can make that little edit fix, that would be fine.

Bit of a controversial one but all AEW-related material appears to call him by his real name rather than the Big Show. What's the protocol regarding redirecting this article to his real name? We all know what WWE are like when it comes to intellectual property; if AEW were allowed to use the name 'Big Show' at all they would've used it already. I'm seeing mixed results regarding wrestlers when they change ring names - of all AEW wrestlers that use names they previously used in WWE/F, the majority are either a) real names or variants thereof (Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, mononymous Cody), or b) ones that go back even further than their time in WWE/F (Sting, Chris Jericho). Most wrestlers I can think of whose names were actually created by WWE, their Wikipedia articles no longer use those names and instead favour their current ones. Jon Moxley, Shawn Spears and Brodie Lee's articles are headed by their current (or last in Lee's case, may he rest in peace) ring names. Miro, on the other hand, still redirects to Rusev. Granted, way more people know him by Big Show and probably will continue to refer to him going forward but if that name is, to all intents and purposes, no longer used, would a factual encyclopedia entry not benefit from being headed by the name his current employer uses, i.e. his real name? For example, Erick Rowan has worked for years under that name, there is no point to change it to Erik Redbeard, which is more obscure, even if he used the name now. That's a fair point but your example isn't really a direct comparison; Erick Redbeard is just another stage name he adopted this year, Paul Wight has been known as Paul Wight his entire life. Not as well-known, as we both acknowledge, but birth names don't come and go between promotions. Paul Wight has been known as Big Show for 20 years and as The Giant in WCW. Even if Paul Wight is his real name, he is best known by the stagename of Big Show. Most ringnames work as stage names. At the end, it's a case-per-case scenario. We change the name of Jack Swagger since he was a lot of coverage as Jake Hager due to AEW and Bellator. Same for Emma / Tenille Dashwood. We changed the names since they are best known under their real name because their work. On the other hand, we have wrestlers that still best known for their work in WWE (Enzo Amore, Konnor and Viktor, No Way Jose) and there is no point to change the names into more obscure ones (nZo, Big Kon, Vik). --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 08:44, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Again, not really a direct comparison on two fronts; Firstly, nZo et al all work on the indies now, of course their new ring names will be more obscure than their WWE. AEW really isn't on the same level of obscurity. Secondly, to reiterate my last point, they're new ring names. Not their birth names. He's been referred to by some circles as Paul Wight a lot longer than Eric Arndt has been referred to as nZo, or even Enzo Amore. Lastly, Wight's done a fair bit of acting and most non-WWE-affiliated productions have him credited as Paul Wight, not the Big Show. Outside the wrestling sphere, the name Paul Wight has been used before and now, inside the wrestling sphere, will be used more extensively than ever before. That's why it's a case-by-case. We changed Swagger's name when he came into AEW, before that, he was working in a very minor promotions. It's different working as Paul Wight on WXW rather than NJPW or AEW. However, he is best known for his pro wrestling carrer, not as an actor and 20 years is a big time period. If Undertaker leaves WWE and works as Mark Callaway, his common name would be The Undertaker. How long? I don't know. You can open a discussion right now if you want. Change “acromegaly” to “gigantism”. Acromegaly is a condition that occurs when too much human growth hormone is produced after growth plates have closed. If someone is born with an excess production of human growth hormone, it is called gigantism.
