This isn't necessarily true for thermal generation. There may be a Rated Output or Maximum Dependable Capacity that can occasionally be exceeded due to a variety of conditions (e.g., ambient temperature/humidity affecting the efficiency of a cooling tower). A generating plant may operate at 100% thermal power over a time period yet generate >100% of its rated/maximum-dependable electrical output. 192.75.43.12 (talk) 18:29, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
