"Poincaré enrolled in 1873 at the École Polytechnique, .... In 1879 he obtained a doctorate in mathematics at the University of Paris under the guidance of Charles Hermite. His doctoral thesis was on differential equations and dealt with theorems of existence of solutions. This research led to one of his most famous contributions to mathematics: the definition of automorphic functions, which he called Fuchsian zeta functions, after the German mathematician Lazarus Fuchs, who was one of the creators of the modern theory of differential equations." if verifiable, could be noted ? - Rod57 (talk) 12:38, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
