Talk:Ancillary

To editor Nortonius: these are all partial title matches, which means that each title must reduce to the title of the page. For example, since the Mississippi River is often just called "the Mississippi", it's okay to include the river at Mississippi (disambiguation). None of these can be referred to as "an ancillary", so as partial title matches, they should not be disambiguated. Hi Paine Ellsworth, thanks for pinging me. The main motivation for my revert was that it seemed senseless to search WP for "ancillary" and land at an article about religion, when there are so many other WP articles that include "ancillary" in their titles. Calling it an "Easter egg" seems about right. I admit my revert was "drive-by" and I'm not familiar with policy here, but for example doesn't WP:DABRELATED equally apply? If WP policy really does not permit this sort of dab page, I would rather see it deleted. Perhaps a WP:RfC is in order. Although I'm not so bothered as to organise that myself – it's just that, if this page were reverted to being a hard redirect to an article on religion, I should be confused to say the least. It seems that DABRELATED applies to a title that is mentioned in a related article that does not have the dabbed title in the page title, like the word "set" being mentioned in the Volleyball and Tennis articles, so it does not appear to apply here. You have a good point, though, that it would be WP:ASTONISHing to readers to land on Ancillaries of the Faith, so this page might be best redirected to Wiktionary.  Paine Ellsworth  ^{put'r there}  00:02, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
