October?

Rublamb I believe looking at the History that you have improved Fall 1976 from the second reference to October 1976, but I don't see which source has that information. I even pulled out my Baird's 20th edition to look there. I'd like to confirm before I update the ACHS page. (Additionally, this was used as an example of where we have only been able to get season in discussions at Template talk:Date table sorting.Naraht (talk) 17:21, 21 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Looks like Jax MN added October to the infobox in August 2021, before my edits. I will see if I can find this somewhere, but I agree it currently doesn't seem to have a source for October. Rublamb (talk) 17:53, 21 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I am finding missing sources, but so far, nothing indicating October. Will keep working on it. I wonder if October came from an old social media site? It is not uncommon to grab a date, but not source it to Facebook. Rublamb (talk) 18:57, 21 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Gee, that was a full five years ago, on August 24, 2021. My memory is good, but not that good. Nor does my browser history go back that far. But I can tell you my practice has normally been to insert the month when I see a reference for it, and that there were a few situations in that era and before where I 'split the difference' and placed a seasonal-only date into the middle month of that season, in this case, October. --Assuming the founders would need a few weeks to meet each other when school started in September, and for a formation plan to coalesce. That was my thinking at the time. I haven't assumed a month from a season name for several years. If memory serves. Or that month may have come from a wayback page, where I missed citation. Texas Tech University is Beta Beta chapter ref: access-newspaperarchive-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/us/texas/brownfield/brownfield-news/1981/08-16/page-10 - Can you tell me the name of the article? Thanks. The bot was very upset about my citation. I have added more chapters since you worked on this. It is hit or miss on finding one of these oddities with a chapter name, but I keep find more chapters in the process. So you might have more luck. Rublamb (talk) 22:22, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
